A team may average 2.8 total goals per league match, yet its last six away fixtures read 0–0, 1–0, 0–1, 1–1, 0–0 and 0–1. The season figure is mathematically sound, but it blends high-scoring home performances with a much quieter travelling pattern.
For the next fixture, the useful starting point is not simply “goals per match.” Venue splits separate who scores, who concedes, and where.
